First time trying this place and the experience was pretty good. Clean spacious restaurant with friendly service. We were there before 5pm so they were still offering their lunch specials. Like typical Hong Kong style cafe, they had a wide variety of rice and noodle dishes. We got the pan-fried vermicelli with diced beef & mushrooms and house special pork chop on rice. Everything was well made and delicious. No complaints.

We joined with about 30 friends and the order was for spring rolls, pork fried rice, another rice dish with chicken, lemon chicken, broccoli beef with noodles, chicken wings, sweet and sour pork, and some dishes I didn't write down. Orders were family style. The photos show most of the feast and my apologies for eating this delicious food and missing photo ops of 4 or 5 more dishes. The food quality was the best I have ever eaten. Amazing, comes to mind. The servers were so helpful, happy and brought us the food steaming hot. The chefs (there had to be a small army of them ) were working fast and the food was so delicious. Fresh ingredients for sure. Thank you Adam for treating us to the best Chinese food on the continent and many thanks to Starlight Kitchen . Highly recommended for your next trip to Vancouver BC. Well worth the visit. Please let me know how much you enjoyed the Starlight Kitchen.

Dang…you get a lot of food. It’s pretty good hk comfort food. Please note they tack on an extra 3% for credit card use. If managers or owners of Starlight Kitchen can reply and leave me an email I have a better strategy for you.

This place is always kept very clean! Upon request, they are willing to make sure a dish is vegetarian; I photographed an example. Lunch special (photo from last year) good value for money. The surrounding area can feel a little sketchy, especially after dark, but their genial and friendly service makes up for it!

We came on a Saturday and it was empty when we walked in at around 11:30am. They have lots of parking downstairs. Pork intestine ($14.98) - very crispy on the outside, large portion, well cleaned and chewy on the outside. The sour sauce on the side is much appreciated. This was a hit among the table. Would order again Sweet sour pork ($13.98) - again quite a large portion for the price. But unfortunately the meat was a bit dry and some pieces can be chewy. The flavour was good and the outside was well coated with the sweet and sour pork. Wouldn't order again Pan fried Vermicelli with bitter melon (20.98)- the noodles were perfectly crispy. Not overly oily. Again generous portions. Too much bitter melon for me but the elders liked it. They would order again Scallop fried rice with egg yolk ($19.98) - generous portion, lots of small scallops and prominent egg yolk flavour which was good. The rice is very separate from each other (Chinese saying) which is good. Would order this again Milk tea (came with the meals)- were not bad. Not horrible and has a good amount of tea flavour. It wasn't silky smooth but not rough either. The service at this place is not horrible but not the best either. It's prompt and what you expect at chinese restaurants. The food was overall a hit. I would come back and try more of their dishes

This restaurant is what Vancouver is missing. Affordable Hk cafe style and family dinner style food with massive portions. Many restaurants have these options but they do not compare in terms of pricing and the amount of food. When I was kid these restaurants were everywhere. It's not fine dining but comfort food in large portions that is tasty and affordable. Very friendly staff but service may be slow or lack attentiveness due to lack of staff. Food here is above average in taste. The only thing I'm peeved about is the frequent price adjustments which I understand they are still trying to optimize. I come here very often and highly recommend to give this place a try. I hope they keep their pricing, portions without dropping quality. Vancouver really needs more cheap affordable food options with large portions to take home after . Breakfast I would recommend getting two items for best bang for the buck. $20 can feed two unless big eaters.

Starlight Kitchen has a large menu that has many different items including: Hong Kong Cafe items and Cantonese style Chinese dinner items. There was one waitress that was serving all guests during our dinner, which is pretty impressive. Food came out fast and was pretty tasty according to my parents. They take cash or debit, if you want to pay by credit they will charge you a 3% fee. You can park at the top or in the nearby parking lot. I would recommend trying Starlight Kitchen if you want a variety of menu items to order.

I’ve been here a few times and love their baked pork chop on rice, and the way they make the HKMT is amazing.
